Alain Dister (1941-2008), whose real name was Alain Desailly, was a French journalist and photographer who was the author of numerous rock-related books. He moved to California in 1966 and participated in the emergence of the hippie community. Back in France in 1969, he co-founded the magazine Rock & Folk. Recognized photographer, he exhibited in various museums and galleries around the world. His photographs were shown for the first time by agnès b. in 1994 as part of the exhibition "The young girl in the city". In 2023, they were part of La Fab's "Dance & Music" exhibition. Alain Dister also produced radio programs and documentary films.
