Jonas Mekas (1922- 2019) was a Lithuanian-American filmmaker, poet, and artist. In 1962, he co-founded The Film-Makers' Cooperative, and in 1970 he co-founded the Anthology Film Archives in New York, which promotes and preserves rare independent films. He showed his photograms to the public for the first time at Galerie du Jour agnès b. in 1996. He was also the first artist to create an issue of Point d'Ironie in 1997.
